Yay for Half Moon Modern!

So I did get some fun stuff from Seven Sisters Quilt Show. :D

Half Moon Modern Charm Pack.

I decided not to try and collect a ton more for a quilt, but to make pillowcases! So I spent a little time while watching Psych with Hubby arranging the squares. I think I am even going to sew them together by hand! We'll see how that goes. :)

I put together a collage of my little designs. I played most around with the yellow/red/grey (apparently I'm obsessed with this combo...but also I liked the brights together a lot, too). I started with the orange and the yellow in the middle and the other colors on the outside, but decided finally on the "down the center" approach. Lovin' it!

Well...

They wouldn't let us take pictures and I wasn't about to spend ten more dollars to buy a dvd! Sigh. Do pictures really hurt the quilts? Or is it a way to just make an extra buck? It just annoys me.

I snuck a picture of kelly with my phone...but not great.

Overall I'm sure the quilt show was amazing. And there really were some very gorgeous and intricate quilts! For myself however...I feel like I just spent $40 on two yards of fabric. :/

Seven Sisters Quilt Show

I'm so excited! I'm working today, but Kelly is willing to go with me!

I have gone back and forth about whether or not to pay the $20 for us to get in (I figured I should pay for her entry since it's more my thing than hers...), but I think I just need to do it!

It started at nine, but Kelly was still sleeping. Thankfully it goes til five! I'll post pictures later!

This Week, Instead of Quilting (2 weeks ago!)

I just discovered that this post never got published! So just in case you were wondering what I was up to a few weeks ago...

I am hanging out with a little chicky who is full of energy! Five years old and yesterday we ran a mile. And that was after racing all over the park. And not just racing...RACING! And she is fast!

We are taking a break for lunch and some ScoobyDoo before we go to the park. :)

But I do have friday off, so hopefully I will get some quilting in. :)

A Little Rain

I love how a day of light rain turns everything around here green! We live in such a wonderful place!

Curves Class, Cards and Easter

Hello all! Picture heavy!

I have some pictures for you! From my curvey curves class!

A completed block:

And some quarter blocks that I have finished ...I'm not really sure how I am going to organize these yet but I have some ideas. I think it is going to be a baby quilt! Many of my friends will be having kids in the next few years, so I might as well get a head start, right!?

Another thing I've been doing...making cards! I have three birthdays in my family this week, and a lot of scrapbook supplies that are going to "waste" since I switched to Shutterfly books. This one is for my little brother, who turns 15 next week! Eep!

Three new things on my plate: (I'm planning on taking some pictures for these categories soon!)

Running! I ran 3.5 miles this morning. I am running Miracle Miles for Kids next month, which is 6.2 miles! I got a blister this morning. Ugh. I'm supposed to run tomorrow, too, and hike Saturday! Hopefully I can get rid of this thing!

Camping! We are heading to Yosemite this weekend! Whoot! I'm semi excited and semi not looking forward to it. Which happens every time we go. :P I loved camping growing up. Now it's work, and it's going to be freezing! But I always love it, and we are going with wonderful friends we don't get to see very often. Yay!

Nursery! I am taking over Nursery Coordinator at our church. I'm looking forward to it! Scheduling, working with parents and staff. I met with the children's minister this morning and I'm feel even better than before. He was really encouraging and a great support. I'm excited to become more involved in our church!

Yes, Easter was a few weekends ago, but my family came and it was just so fun having everyone here! My parents and all three younger siblings (even my 21 year old brother who is always super busy!), and my grandparents! We loved having everyone here and I can't wait to make it a tradition and see it happen more. I'm glad we're waiting to have kids, but I do look forward to the days when we have little ones running around to entice the family to visit more!

Hubby and I got to go to a friend's house and hang out on Sat morning for their egg hunt - we were the only couple without kids - it was so fun to just be observing and hanging out with the kids (most of whom are in the nursery that I will be helping out it!). Pictures!

Isaiah:

Abby:

Those are the three that I spend a lot of time with and belong to good friends of ours. :)

Easter with the fam. :) Great weekend.

Hubby fits right in with my family. :) Hacky-sackers all!

Too Long

Oh my! I feel like I've left cookquiltlove out in the dust!

I don't have any pictures today but I did get to go to a quilt class on Saturday. My first class...it was really fun! I didn't know anyone, and it turned out I was an hour late (I thought it started at 11, but when I showed up, everyone was completely settled in and working...sigh), but it was totally fun. It was a "Curvy Curves" class. I learned a lot and I was able to catch up! I finished a block and started a few more. I think I'm going to make it into a baby quilt. I'm working on the arrangement for it though. I'll show you pictures on Thursday - I have the day off!

In other news...We find out on Friday about the competition Andrew entered Papyrus in (Android application, our business!). The competition first prize is $100,000! For anyone new to the blog, or simply curious...my Hubby, Andrew, is an entrepreneur and starting his own software company, Steadfast Innovation. Our first product is a note taking application for active pen-enabled tablets! You can check out Papyrus - I helped Andrew make the video! So far Papyrus has been doing really well in the market. God has been so great with his blessings and we are excited for what he is doing in the future!

Anyway. Lots of stuff happening. Don't want to overload you with info and no pics, so hopefully I can get something else up on Thursday! :)

Vote for Papyrus!

Help everyone! Our app is in a challenge to win up to $100, 000 from Samsung! It would really help get this business off the ground and go towards hiring someone to help Andrew!

Visit the link below to vote for Papyrus. You will be required to create an account, but that is so you can vote everyday until the 16th! The app with the most votes so far has over 100 and we have 20. But we have so many wonderful people in our lives we should easily catch up today!

Pillow One

Anyone remember my parent's quilt? It was a Christmas present and they keep it on their bed! My original intention was to make some matching pillow cases for them, and then when my mom said she couldn't find any pillow cases in the right color, I really had to do it. So...

First pillowcase! Done in 2.5 hours! Whoot!

And the back...

And who is the luckiest girl this week!? This arrived in the mail yesterday. So full of amazing things!
The pillow is actually a variation of the wonky quilts from pages 15, 17 and 79. :) Written by my favorite blogger. Funny how my two favorite bloggers are both moms. :P Gives my hope that my hobby will not die out when little ones pop up around here.

And some fabric collected from my favorite quilt shop, Quilters Cupboard! I love sales, and they had a whole bunch of new things in their sale basket! That's where the two wrapped pieces came from. The other two are solids I fell in love with. I'm trying to get a few more solids into my collection...

I'm taking my very first class in April! :D At Quilters Cupboard. It is a wonky curved quilt. I need 12 fat quarters. So I have collected 8 so far.

Have a wonderful day!
